Producer Compensation Disclosure

HSIC sells insurance products through insurance agents and brokers (“Producers”). The Producers act as intermediaries between insureds and/or prospective insureds, who purchase insurance from carriers. Some Producers may be affiliated with HSIC and others are not. Producers earn compensation in order to encourage them to sell products, comply with regulatory requirements, and/or provide services to policyholders.  Producers typically receive compensation based in whole or in part on the insurance contract the Producer sells. The compensation paid to the Producer may vary depending on a number of factors, including the insurance contract and the insurer that the purchaser selects, the volume of business the Producer provides to the insurer or the profitability of the insurance contracts that the Producer provides to the insurer. Purchasers of insurance may obtain information about the compensation expected to be received by the Producer based in whole or in part on the sale, based in whole or in part on any alternative quotes presented by the Producer, by requesting such information from the Producer.

In some cases, Hadron may delegate underwriting authority to a producer.  In addition to receiving other forms of compensation described herein, such producers may receive an additional commission or other compensation for performing this underwriting function.

US Regulatory Notice

Hadron Specialty Insurance Company (HSIC) is a domestic surplus lines insurer approved in Arkansas and eligible to transact business under the Nonadmitted and Reinsurance Reform Act, 15 U.S.C. § 8202 (NRRA).  Many states permit excess and surplus lines brokers to place insurance with an excess or surplus lines insurer eligible under the NRRA, including, but not limited to, some of the states shown below.

Many states take a different approach and require licensed excess or surplus lines brokers to place insurance with an excess or surplus lines insurer shown on the state list of approved insurers.   HSIC will apply to be included on state surplus lines eligibility lists when the necessary information becomes available to do so.  HSIC will periodically update the list below to show the states where it is included on the state approved lists, as well as the states where HSIC is eligible, but the state does not maintain an approved list.  Insurance agents and brokers are required to understand and comply with the excess and surplus lines requirements in the state where they transact business.

Any inquiries should be directed through licensed insurance professionals. Domestic surplus lines insurers insure risks in their domiciliary state on a surplus lines basis. Surplus lines coverage must be procured through licensed surplus lines producers. Surplus lines insurers do not generally participate in state guaranty funds and insureds are therefore not protected by such funds. Not all HSIC products are available in all states.
